The Honda Civic, on the other hand, isn’t yet available with a hybrid powertrain. Its standard configuration can only offer up to 31 city and 40 highway MPG.
On top of their fuel-efficient performances, the Toyota Corolla and the Honda Civic provide multiple engine options. In the Corolla, you can select from one of two engines:
- 2.0L 4-cylinder: 169 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque
- 1.8L hybrid 4-cylinder: 138 horsepower and 105 lb-ft of torque
Similarly, the Honda Civic offers two engines: a 4-cylinder engine and a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. However, its base engine falls short of the standard engine in the Corolla by offering just 158 horsepower and 138 lb-ft of torque. Plus, as mentioned previously, only the Corolla is available with a hybrid powertrain, which helps maximize efficiency.
